SKI CENTER KELARIA PARNASSUS MOUNTAIN | 2014
The project is about the provision of a new lift line at the ski center of Parnassus mountain. The line connects Kelaria 1750 to 2250, with a new technologically advanced combi system. All structures and new buildings to support the new line are designed, fully respecting the mountainous environment and recycling excavations materials. Building presence is subtle and lines are simple. A dialogue with existing buildings is succeeded by means of organization of outdoor spaces, in respect to existing pedestrian and skier’s movements, with simple and minimum earthworks. Local weather conditions lead to a choice of appropriate materials. Structural design concept is clear: concrete for all underground structures bases and earth plates and metallic structures for the upper floors.
