PAROS_THE CAVE/AMONG THE RUINS

This residence in Sklavomaria area of Paros, is designed with an amphitheatrical shape/form, following the steep slope of the ground. Main cause of the design is the integration into the landscape and the continuous unobstructed view towards the sea.

This project refers to a country house that enhances the harmonious coexistence of human’s intervention and landscape. The residence which resembles to a cave, is a structure of irregular geometry, inspired by the concept of “ancient ruins” which, with time, has kept its mark on the site and now is an integral part of the landscape. With regard to its shape, the inclined stone walls define the boundaries of the residence and shape the courtyards which are suitable for pleasure and relaxation.
