MANI RURAL | 2017

Residential

The house is situated in an olive grove slight slope at the Messinian Mani, at South Peloponnese. It consists of four separate buildings, arranged around a central courtyard in a U shape, with a west orientation and a beautiful view to the sea. All four volumes follow the landscape’s morphology and connect with each other via three glass connecting pathways.

The common living spaces of the house are situated at the center of the U arrangement, with direct access to the main courtyard and the cistern-pool, while the bedrooms occupy the long ends of the synthesis.

Τhe volumes of the house are designed as a “walk” through the olive trees, interweaving with the landscape and become an integral part of it.
