Filothei _refined naturality | 2018

Residential

Creation of a central core, the  “tree” of the house, from which all movements, uses, materials and experiences unwind and connect to each other.

A two floor flat of 220m2 in Filothei, Athens, is transformed in order to house the common life of a new couple. At the center of this transformation, one can recognize the sculptural, metal staircase.

Through its organic design, it becomes the core element that connects all others, in both floors, as a central axis/tree of the house.

The materials used, are derived from a natural palette, wood, cement, metal, all working together through a refined contradiction, allowing the space to feel warm, minimal though fresh.
